Pomfret Gravy Made With:

Pomfret Gravy can be made with pomfrets cut in slices, onions, tamarind pulp, jaggery crushed, garlic chopped, green chilies, coriander chopped, coriander seeds ground, green chilies ground, turmeric powder, black pepper powder, Dhansaak masala, salt, oil, boiled rice and papads to serve.

Recipe Of Pomfret Gravy:

Preparation Time 35-40 minutes
Serves 4-5 people

Ingredients:

Pomfrets, cut in slices 2
Onions, chopped 250 gm
Tamarind pulp ½ cup
Jaggery crushed ½ cup
Garlic, chopped 1 pod
Green chilies, chopped 4 – 6
Coriander chopped 1 bunch
Coriander, ground 1 bunch
Green chilies, ground 5 – 6
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Black pepper powder 1 tsp
Dhansaak masala 1 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp
Oil 2 – 3 tbsp
Boiled rice to serve with
Papads to serve with

Instruction For Cooking:

1. Heat oil, add onions let them sauté and then add the garlic.

2. To the fish slices apply salt, ground coriander and ground green chilies, dhansaak masala, black pepper powder and turmeric. Keep it aside.

3. Slowly add the fish in the pan and let cook.

4. Then mix in the chopped coriander and chopped green chilies too.

5. Add little water and do not stir the fish.

6. Shake the pan side to side.

7. Mix jaggery and tamarind pulp and add in the fish.

8. Serve with boiled rice and papads.

Variation In Pomfret Gravy:

Pomfret Gravy can be make more variable by adding few more ingredients to make this Pomfret Gravy more delicious in taste and like d by all. You can add finely chopped coriander leaves for garnishing when served to make it more aromatic and colorful.

Pomfret Gravy Served:

Pomfret Gravy can be usually served at any restaurant, dhaba and at homes too as a side dish. Pomfret Gravy can also be served with steamed rice or any type of naan, roti or chapati along with any raita and salad of your choice and also lemon to squeeze.
