Arvi Gosht is an excellently cooked salan or a tangy gravy which is made with vegetable named arvi and meat is mutton which is flavoured with some aromatic simple spices which imparts delectable flavours to this favourable aromatic Arvi Gosht.

Arvi Gosht Taste And Texture:

Arvi Gosht is basically a tangy stew and very aromatic, delicious and spicy too. Arvi Gosht has a slightly thin consistency and gives an amazing sourness from the tomatoes and slight heat from red chilli powder and green chillies and the subtle sweetness from onions along with the aroma of ginger and garlic paste with the flavours of other dry spices.

Arvi Gosht Arvi Is The Main Ingredient:

In Arvi Gosht the main ingredient is arvi it look very similar to potatoes both in texture and taste and arvi is also goes very well with any meat like arvi chicken, arvi mutton or arvi beef.

Recipe Of Arvi Gosht:

Preparation time 30 minutes
Serves 4-5 people

Ingredients:

Mutton or beef 4-6 pieces
Arvi 8-10
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Garlic paste 1 tsp
ginger paste 1 tsp
Fresh Coriander leaves few
Green chilli 2-3
Tomatoes 2
Onion 1 large
Cinnamon stick 2 small
Big black cardamom 1
Salt To taste
Cooking oil 4-5 tbsp
Water As required

Instruction For Cooking:

1. Take the arvi and peel them with a peeler or knife, after removing skin cut in to halves and wash and then keep a side.

2. Take a heavy based pot, heat oil and add sliced onions, fry onions till golden brown.

3. Then add the meat and saute for a minute.

4. Add ginger garlic paste and mix and fry for a minute.

5. Then add coriander, turmeric and red chilli powder. Then add cinnamon stick, black cardamom and salt and fry all of these spices, meat and onions for 5 minutes by adding a little water like 3-4 tbsp in between to prevent it from burning.

6. Add water to the meat and mix. Once the water comes to a boil, reduce heat to low and cover lid to the pot.

7. Let the meat cook on low flame until it is well cooked and done.

8. Now once the meat done turn heat to medium and fry meat well for about 2-3 minutes and then add arvi pieces and fry, then add tomatoes, green chillies and fry for about 5 minutes.

9. Now add water (depending on how thin you want the gravy/consistency to be). Mix well and bring to boil.

10. Now when its start boil again reduce heat to low flame and cover the lid on pot and let it cook until the arvis are become soft and done or well cooked.

11. Now when arvis are become done turn heat to high and fry all for a few minutes till oil becomes on gravy.

12. Now turn off the flame and garnish it with fresh coriander leaves.
