Corn Masala Rice Healthy & Nutritious:

In Corn Masala Rice corn is the main ingredient of the dish. Corn is a rich source of many essential nutrients and fibre.  Corn Masala Rice is a meal which is rich in corn can go a long way in protecting against many diseases as it has many health benefits.  In Corn Masala Rice corn is also good source of vitamin B1 & 5,  folate, dietry fiber,  vitamin C,  phosphorus and manganese.

Recipe Of Corn Masala Rice:

Preparation time 30 minutes
Serves 4-5 people


Basmati rice 1 cup
Corn kernels 1 cup
Green peas 1 cup
Cashew halved 10-12
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Sambhar masala 1 tsp
Garam masala 1/2 tsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Lemon juice of 1 lemon
Oil or ghee 2 tbsp
Each cumin and mustard seeds 1/2 tsp

Instruction For Cooking:

1. In a heavy saucepan heat the ghee.  Add the cashews and fry till light brown. Remove.

2. To same oil add cumin and mustard seeds to splutter. Add the corn,  peas, rice and all dry masalas and 5 cups water.  Cover and cook till almost done.

3. Add lemon juice,  sugar,  coriander and cashews.

4. Cover and cook till rice is done and no water is left.

5. Masalas may be added as per desi red spiciness.

6. Serve hot with curds.

Variation In Corn Masala Rice:

Corn Masala Rice is already a variable dish but you can also made some little changes or add some other ingredients to make your Corn Masala Rice as per your own choice. You can also add green. yellow or red bell peppers, or you can add fresh coriander leaves and you can add spring onions,  cabbage or green chillies the choice is all yours.

Uses Of Corn Masala Rice:

Corn Masala Rice can be usually eaten in the lunch at homes or in restaurants too.  Corn Masala Rice can be served as side dish with any gravy of your choice like jalfrezy,  shashlik,  manchurian etc.  Choice is all yours.
