Ingredients:

Unsalted butter 1 tbsp
Chopped onion 1 cup
Chopped carrot 1 cup
Chopped white turnip 1 cup
Chopped celery 2 cups
Fresh parsley 3 sprigs
Cloves 2
Bay leaf 1
Garlic 1 clove
Thyme 1 tsp
Coarse salt 1 tsp
Ground black pepper 1/4 tsp
Tomatoes 4

Instruction For Cooking:

1. Melt butter. Add onion.  Sauté onion until golden.

2. Add chopped carrots, chopped turnips, chopped celery, fresh parsley, cloves, bay leaf, garlic, thyme, coarse salt, fresh ground black pepper, tomatoes, and water to pan. Cover and simmer untill all vegetables become cooked and soft.

3. Strain vegetable stock through muslin lined strainer.
