Spicy Kofta Curry can be made with For the koftas you need pine nuts, mince beef, onion grated, chopped parsely or soya leaves, garlic crushed, ground cumin, egg, ground black pepper and salt. For curry you need tomatoes, ghee, milk, cream, sugar and salt. For spicy masala paste you need chopped onions, garlic cloves, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, poppy or sesame seeds, ginger, green chilies, whole red kashmiri chilies, turmeric powder, water and chopped fresh coriander leaves.
Ingredients
- For Kofta:
- Beef mince - 500 gm
- Pine nut - 2 tbsp
- Onion - 1
- Parsely chopped - 1/4 cup
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Cumin ground - 1.1/2 tsp
- Egg - 1
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper Ground - to taste
- For Curry:
- Tomatoes chopped - 2 cup
- Ghee - 1 tbsp
- Milk - 1/4 cup
- Cream - 2 tbsp
- Sugar - 1/2 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Masala Paste For Curry:
- Onions chopped - 3/4 cup
- Garlic - 4 cloves
- Coriander seeds - 2 tsp
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- Poppy or sesame seeds - 2 tsp
- Ginger - 1 inch piece
- Green chilies - 2
- Kashmiri red chilies - 6
- Coriander leaves - 1/2 bunch
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Water - 1/2 cup
Instructions
Instruction For Making:
1. For the koftas, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
2. Heat the oil in a wok, drop spoonfuls of the mixture into it and deep-fry a few at a time until it turns golden brown in colour from all the sides.
3. Drain on absorbent paper and keep aside.
4. For the curry, combine the tomatoes and 1 cup of water in a pan and cook till the tomatoes are soft.
5. Cool and blend till smooth. Strain the pulp and keep aside.
6. For the masala paste grind all the ingredients with water till smooth.
7. Heat the ghee, add the masala paste and sauté. Add the tomato pulp and milk, mix well and cook stirring occasionally.
8. Add the cream, sugar and salt and cook.
9. Just before serving, add the koftas, mix gently.
10. Serve with parathas or steamed rice.
